April 1st Book Giveaway

Today we have yet another ARC giveaway. This time the awesomely talented Lauren Dane is offering up an ARC of her upcoming book, RELENTLESS. I was lucky enough to be given a sneak peek of this book, and let me tell you, it’s awesome. Lauren weaves an amazing futuristic work with dynamic, three dimensional characters you fall madly in love with and care about. Add in a thrilling, turn the page plot and I couldn’t put the book down. And the sex is smokin hawt!

In this erotic universe, passion knows no rank…

Since the first settlers came through the portals from Earth, fifteen Families have held the rule of the Federated Universes in their hands. There’s never been a better time than now to throw out the old and usher in a new order. Give voice to the unranked. Abbie Haws has spent her life battling the system. A fighter, she’s always been too busy and driven to pay much attention to finding love. But when she’s granted audience with Roman Lyons, the head of House Lyons, who stands for everything she hates, her instant attraction catches Abbie off-guard…

It’s common knowledge that the Known Universe revolves around Ravena—and that Ravena revolves around Roman Lyons, bred to lead since birth. Roman dreads his meeting with a defiant—if stunning—rabble-rouser. But, sometimes, headstrong personalities in the conference room make for hot-and-heavy, guilty trysts in private….

Now, Abbie will show Roman the parts of her world he wouldn’t otherwise get to see. And he’ll give her a glimpse of the Families’ age old tradition and unleash a sexuality he’d never given rein to before.

To be eligible to win today’s prize, let’s talk about the future. What gadget or convenience or lifestyle or technology would you like to see in the future that isn’t available today? For me, it would have to be flying cars, or hovercraft. JD Robb’s books have the coolest travel methods. LIft the car and hover over the traffic. Flying around through the air just sounds like fun to me. What about you? What would you like to see in the future, technology wise?

Please don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear right away. Some comments are being moderated and I’ll grab them and release them.

Because my blog is being a giant pain in the ass and holding comments in moderation and in spam and it takes me a bit to go find them, I’m going to choose winners at the end of every week, on Saturday, instead of every day. So check back every Saturday to see if you’re one of the weekly book winners. Because I’m not going to hunt the winners down. You have to come here to see if you’ve won and then contact me with your info (Other than ARCS being sent by the authors offering them, I’ll be shipping all the winning books directly from Amazon). Otherwise, come back every day for a new book giveaway.

And don’t forget to enter the grand prize contest! You could win a $100 Amazon Gift Certificate, a $100 Harley Davidson purse, or other prizes. Share the widget for a chance to win! Rules and info here

    Lisa Freeman says:

I agree about the hovercraft -we were just talking about it last week as we sat in traffic on the way to Atlanta for a soccer game.

I would also like an automatic house cleaner, duster, straightener! And something that unloads the dishwasher, washes, folds, puts away laundry. All of that at a convenient price, of course!

I realize those are frivolous answers, but there is so much in our world that really needs attention that sometimes it’s fun just to play.

    Lexee says:

I would like to see better cleaning machines. Also the flying cars, that would be really cool.

  3. 3

I like your idea of flying cars and hovercrafts 🙂 Of course right now I’m thinking I’d like a vacuum cleaner that actually picks up the dirt, doesn’t need repairs, and does the vacuuming all on its own 😉

  4. 4
    Elaine says:

Same author, JD Robb – but I want their autochef. I can’t quite figure out how they ‘load’ it, but I like not having to actually cook, just program what you want. I loathe cooking. Actually its not the cooking I loathe, its the ‘what should I make with this’ that I loathe.

  5. 5
    Natasha A. says:

A Transporter. Imagine, you could live anywhere and work anywhere. You could take a 1 week vacation and actually use the whole week instead of using some of that time for travel. Oh yeah.

  6. 6
    Jaci says:

Oh man I totally forgot about the autochef. Yes, I definitely want one of those too. I hate thinking about what to fix for dinner.

  7. 7
    Lea says:

WOOT! What an awesome prize Jaci!!

Um, let’s see. I would like a robotic maid for my house. I absolutely loath, detest and hate housework. 🙂

    Thanks Jaci.

  8. 8
    Anne says:

I like Lea’s comment about a robotic maid, but my first thought was a surgical machine that’s blood and painless like in the later Star Trek shows.

  9. 9
    Becky Ward says:

I like the flying car and transporter too. I also like more items to be voice activated. I like the idea of telling something to turn on like the computer or a fireplace.

  10. 10
    Katy M. says:

I want to see solar panels (much advanced) on every rooftop and thin, clear sticky solar film on every window.
Also agriculture towers, I’ve seen this on tv so it can happen – lol. Spiraling towers of fresh fruit and vegetables right in your neighborhood. No transportation and warehousing costs. It would seriously help with global warming carbon emissions.

  11. 11
    flip says:

hologram games just like Star Trek the Next Generation. I love role playing.

  12. 12
    blodeuedd says:

Like a screen on your eye where you can can watch tv, check emails, and call someone at the same time 🙂
Small things to make life simpler

  13. 13
    Stacy says:

I definitely like the hovercraft..but I want it to work on autopilot so I can text, surf the web and do multiple things and not have to worry about hitting people.

Also want a robot that pulls the weeds in my flowerbed LOL

  14. 14
    Raonaid Luckwell says:

I like the transporter and flying car to make going out of state faster and with less hassel.

But the more I hear about, the more a robotic maid sounds. With the males in my household it would never see a break.

  15. 15
    Ayla says:

Spaceships! Or teleporters. Teleporters would be sooo useful for travelling great distances.

  16. 16
    Christine says:

Me. I want the automatic housecleaner and automatic laundry. Especially if they put away the laundry.

  17. 17
    Teresa W. says:

Being able to teleport to different places would be cool!

  18. 18
    RachieG says:

Autochef!! J.D. Robb’s books sound so great…what do I want? Oh I can have anything and NOT go to the grocery store or make it myself? 🙂 Perfect!!

  19. 19
    Jody F. says:

I would like to have the transporter from Star Trek. That way I’d never have to get bundled in layers during the winter to get to my destination. I can just be there in an instant by being beamed.

  20. 20
    Karin says:

While a flying car or hovercraft would be cool, I’d like to see a transporter, like a few others have mentioned. Having the time taken out of travel would be so nice.

  21. 21
    Shaiha says:

An autochef would be great but only if I was able to afford to keep it stocked with ‘real’ food. What I would really like to see is a computer small enough to carry on a charm bracelet. When needed, just push a button or whatnot and a full power holographic computer appears for your use.

  22. 22
    CrystalGB says:

I would like to have a robot maid to clean and cook for me.

  23. 23

VR – Hologram room like the one in JD Robb’s books. I would love that and an Auotchef. I also would like the face and nail machines they have in 5th Element.

  24. 24
    Kendra says:

I would love to have a transporter instead of using a plane. *grin*

Don’t think i would like to have cars fly. People are crazy enough regular cars.

I would hope that we evolve in the future with pys senses. I would like to be telepathic.

Oh… and would love to have the holodeck from Star Tek. Hmm the fantasies I mean the possibilities are endless.

  25. 25

Oh… and would love to have the holo-deck from Star Trek. Hmm the fantasies I mean the possibilities are endless.

  26. 26
    Jenny Cybulski says:

Hmm…a technology for the future not avaliable today… I would like something to be invented that would help tell you if you are going to get major health problems i.e. cancer, heart problems, and just anything major like that. It would be definant thing though not like if you smoke you may get cancer kind of thing. What my amazing technology would be named I have no idea, but it would save many lives and lots of heart ache.

  27. 27
    Jane says:

I would like to see a shuttle for commercial space travel.

  28. 28
    Tracy says:

All of the above! Seriously, I would love any technology that would make our lives easier and more convenient. Bring on the robomaids, autochefs, flying cars, transporters, etc. The more the merrier! Thank you for the contest.

  29. 29
    Lillie A says:

The health scanner thingy from the Robb series. Can you imagine going to the doctor just to have them wave a wand over you and tell you immediately what the prob is? That would be so great!

  30. 30
    Gayle O says:

I would love to have an android. A life-like person who would do anything I would ask of them. They would also be capable of anticipating needs and acting upon said needs. Having an android with AI (artificial intelligence) would be truly fantastic.

Thank you for putting my name in the hat for your contest.

  31. 31
    Devon says:

like most everyone else, I’m going to say that teleporters, hovercars, and robot maids would be fabulous. I’d be afraid that I would never want to leave it if I had a holodeck room though – imagine what you could do, and who you could do it with…

  32. 32
    limecello says:

Please don’t enter me into this drawing- but I love the question!
What bit of technology do I want? A TELEPORTATION DEVICE. Can I imagine the joys of getting from one place to another in a blink of the eye? Of not having to go through security and being singled out for no reason? No. I cannot. It would be amazing.

  33. 33
    Roberta Harwell says:

    Hello Jaci,

I would enjoy having my very own transporter. This way I could leave anytime my husband’s family starts getting on my nerves. A robotic maid would also be nice as long as she would be programmed to do things my way. Have a great day. Please enter me in the contest.

  34. 34
    Eshani says:

I love Lauren Dane’s novels. She writes in such a way that I always, always fall in love with the characters.
hmm..what a fun question, and the answers are so interesting. I agree with limecello that a teleportaion device would be awesome..I would also love to have a faster delivery system. For example, it would be awesome to order something online and receive it that same day..
Thanks for a great contest Jaci.

  35. 35
    Charlene says:

I would love a Robotic Male Maid **wink** With all the right equipment HAH Especially to do Vaccuuming 😉

  36. 36
    Sally says:

What I’d love to see in the future is some sort of laundry gadget that folds all the laundry and sorts it in piles to be put away.

I know I’m totally dreaming. But that is what I would love and would pay dearly for in the future! I’ll go with the housemaid robot too… and hey while we’re at it, lets make sure this thing puts away the laundry too!

  37. 37
    Lisa W. says:

I love gadgets so I want my house to be totally wired so everything is automatic especially cleaning. I would love a car that I could put on auto if needed. I would also like technology so everyone could be totally healthy.

  38. 38
    Victoria says:

Definitely a robot maid and an autochef. Seriously. I wasn’t made for house work so it would be truly fantastic to have someone else do it with the push of a button. Also, a laptop watch. I’ve always wanted to invent one from the time I was little. It would have tv capabilities too. It’d be kinda tiny but you could take it anywhere and not lug a bag or anything around.

  39. 39
    Jennifer M says:

Like most people that have already answered, most of the things I would like to see would be geared to make my life easier- gadgets to do housework, driving, cooking. I would also like to see technology make use of the sun and the wind to run on.

  40. 40
    Terri says:

I wish they would invent a transporter too. It would just be too cool to get from point A to point B without the risk of road rage to go with it.

  41. 41
    Susan C says:

I would like a contraption that would reverse paralyze.

  42. 42
    Lisa J says:

My first thought were earth friendly cars and appliances like in Nalini’s Psy/Changeling world, but the robot maid would be great. My mom would love to come to my house and find it clean.

  43. 43
    bridget3420 says:

I’d like to be able to “beam” myself somewhere.

  44. 44

  45. 45
    Lauren says:

    two words

I would definitely love a flying car so traveling would be a lot easier and people can travel to more places.

  47. 47
    Cathy M says:

Along with the Eve Dallas series, I would love programing dinner and having it come out completely cooked and ready to eat in minutes.

  48. 48
    Tasha W. says:

I guess I would go with what lots of you are saying…some sort of robotic maid. Then I would have a lot more time to read!

  49. 49
    Rhonda Barnes says:

Hmmm….how about a kitchen that will cook you a delicious, healthy meal with the push of a few buttons on the wall- something like The Jetsons!

    Rhonda 🙂

  50. 50
    Melissa Conatser says:

Wow, everyone has some great wishes/ideas aobut future gadgets! I love the robotic made and hovering car. Also, the solar panels and fruits and vegetables right in your neighboorhood. I also want one of those computers that you see on CSI, they are so cool!

Im going for the transporter. I would love to step inside and be able to zap myself anywhere i want to.

  58. 58
    Lori T says:

I would love to see a teleportation system. I cannot tell you how much time I spend driving people around and waiting to pick them up. It would great to just be able to put them into the thing and send them on their way.

Although, a auto chef system would be great too.

  59. 59
    Janet H says:

Undercover was a wonderful book. I’m looking forward to reading Relentless!!!

Non-invasive medical testing and treatments. Total annihilation of cancer and other nasty diseases.

On the fun side, teleportation stations. It would really be cool to have the ability to replicate the earth’s atmosphere on other planets.

  60. 60
    trish s says:

I am going to have to go with autochef. I hate cooking, cleaning those dishes after cleaning, and shopping for the food. I would also like to have my own personal stand in to do my job and I get the rewards, the money, get to relax, have a glass wine and read.

  61. 61
    Sue A. says:

I could use a robot maid right now. The idea of spring cleaning is daunting!

  62. 62

  66. 66
    Amy S. says:

a smart house, that cleans itself

  67. 67
    Pam Griffith says:

I would like to see a transporter to go place to place in matter of minute so you can spend more time with family and friends instead of driving a distance to see them. Also would like a self cleaning house so you can also spend more time doing what you want.

  68. 68
    Melissa says:

Oh, I love Laurens books. This sounds awesome.
I’d love to have an autochef, and a car that drives itself. And one of those waterless showers that leaves you and your clothes superclean, like in Johanna Lindsey’s futuristic.

  69. 69
    Karmen says:

The list is endless. Self cleaning dishes, a food production machine (like the jetsons) and self-cleaning anything (carpets, shower tiles & tub, hardwood floors).

  72. 72
    Fedora says:

Yep, sign me up for the self-cleaning house with expandable storage that somehow compacts itself when you don’t immediate need it. So every room of your 1500 square-foot house can have a roomy walk-in closet, plus a cavernous attic and basement for whatever you might need 🙂

  73. 73
    Natasha A. says:

@ Fedora: My mind just went geek! LOL Every closet should be a bag of holding (d&d)! lol

  74. 74
    May says:

I’d love to have an autochef. I hate cooking.

I like the vehicles in Minority Report. They are pretty cool. 🙂

  77. 77

Relentless sounds so good I would love to be entered, thank you.

I would like to see a machine invented where we can duplicate our self. There isn’t enough time a day for me. I want to make one Linda reading, one cooking, cleaning, out with friends, on the computer and so on LOL

I do like the idea of flying cars 🙂
