Questions About Books

Will you be writing more books in the Play by Play series?

The Play by Play series is currently completed–for now. At this point, I’m concentrating on other series. But that could change in the future.  Want to be informed about my books? Subscribe to my newsletter to get new information about all my new and ongoing series.

Will you be writing more books in the Hope series?

The Hope series has been completed and no more books will be forthcoming.

When will Killer Decision release?

The publisher pulled Killer Decision from their schedule, and at this point I don’t have plans to release the book.

Do you have books in a series, or connected book? And do the same characters reoccur in these books?

I do love writing series books! There’s something about finishing a book and knowing the characters you met in one book will continue on in the next. That being said, it’s typically not the main hero and heroine from one book who are the focus of the next. I tend to take secondary characters from one book and make them the hero and heroine in another book. But I always revisit the characters from previous books in subsequent books. You can find all of my connected books, plus information about how my books and characters are connected, on the Connected Books page.

Where’s Noah Devlin’s book in the Devlin Dynasty Series?

I’ve written books for all the Devlin family except for Noah’s. I don’t know when or if I’ll ever write Noah’s book. Right now I have books contracted for the next few years, so my schedule is tight. I would love to write Noah’s book someday but I hate to make promises I can’t keep, so all I can say is maybe someday.

Will you be doing another book in the Chains of Love series?

At this point, it doesn’t look like there will be any more books in this series. But I try to never say never.

Questions About Jaci

How do you pronounce your name?

It’s pronounced like Jay-See.

Why did you decide to become a writer?

I really like staying home in my pajamas. (Just kidding about this part—mostly).

I hate doing my hair and putting on makeup. (Not kidding about this part.)

Seriously, I love to write. I think writing has to be something that grabs you from the inside and doesn’t let go. Yes, it’s a job and one I take very seriously, but the idea of not writing? It makes me ache. Creating stories fires me up. I have fun with the characters. I enjoy putting these characters together and I live to put them through the emotional wringer, or have them angry at each other and see how they handle it. I want to know how they’re going to react when they’re presented with seemingly insurmountable obstacles so they can be together. And when they realize they love each other? How are they going to react? Will they face the truth and deal with their feelings, or run like hell? This is what I spend my days doing, and what makes me smile at the end of every day. This is my life and what I love the most about it.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

Nap? Okay, that’s a pipe dream. But I do love naps.

I work in the garden, ride the Harley, I read, watch television. A ridiculous amount of television. I’m a TV addict. Dramas, comedies, reality TV, home improvement TV, you name it, I watch it. I’m also kind of hooked on those real crime shows and watch those at bedtime, which probably accounts for my insomnia. I know, you’re probably thinking… when does she find the time to write? I DVR a lot of TV.

We love going to the casino. Someday I’m going to hit one of those million dollar jackpots (she’s such a dreamer, you’re all thinking, right?). And whenever we can, Biker Dude and I love to travel.

What kinds of books do you like to read?

I love contemporaries and romantic suspense the best. But I’ll read a great book, no matter the genre.

What kind of motorcycle does Jaci have, and does Jaci have her own bike?

We have a 2009 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail. And I most certainly do not have my own bike. While I love riding, that means on the back, not in the front. I’m a sissy that way. I’m perfectly content to sit on the back of the bike and think up great plotlines. Or watch the scenery go by. Or take a nap. Or admire Biker Dude’s… uh… leather.

Questions About Writing

How long does it take you to write a book?

It depends on how big the book is. I can write a novella in a weekend or a couple weeks. A single title can take about two to three months or up to six months, depending on what kind of book it is. Every book is different, and something interrupting my workflow, like edits on another book coming in, or travel, can all affect the length of time it takes to finish a book.

What’s your favorite genre?

Absolutely contemporary romance. I love being grounded in the here and now.

What’s your favorite book out of all the books you’ve written?

The one that’s out right now. Honestly, I’ve loved every book I’ve written. And the one that just released is always my favorite. Until the next book releases. Then that one becomes my favorite. I could never choose just one book. That’s like asking a mother to choose her favorite kid. Really?

Will you read my book for a quote?

I appreciate you asking me to provide a quote for your book! My agent handles all such requests. She can be contacted as follows:

Kimberly Whalen
The Whalen Agency
55 Greens Farm Road #200-64

Westport, CT 06880

Will your eBooks be released in print, and if so, when?

Not all of my eBooks are currently available in print, many because of size constraints (i.e. novella size) or publisher decision. I hope to make as many of my eBooks available in print as possible.

Should an ebook go into print that hasn’t gone into print before, I’ll be sure to make an announcement on my Coming Soon page.

Are there electronic versions available for all of your titles?

All  of my print books are also available as eBooks.

I am having trouble viewing your contest. Can you help?
If you are using a VPN, try turning this off as they’re frequently blocked and commonly used for fraud. If your ISP (internet service provider) uses dynamic (recycled) IPs, you may need to reset your router/connection. If you’re at a workplace or shared location like a school or library, try again via a private connection.
