At The Movies

So we joined Netflix a few weeks back. That and free HBO weekend meant Biker Dude and I have been catching up on some movie watching.

The Departed – Holy crap. Best movie I’ve seen in years. It deserved the Oscar and so did Scorcese. If you haven’t seen it, and you can handle violence and lots of cuss words, do see this. It’s freakin brilliant and a study in awesome characterization. I almost cried when I had to mail it back to Netflix. I’m buying this movie. Oh, and who knew Leo was so hot? Shan mentioned this on her blog recently too. I agree. He never did it for me before. In this movie? Yumm.

The Davinci Code – No, I’m one of 3 people in the free world who didn’t read the book. But I finally saw the movie. Loved it. In a huge way. Loved the secrets, the mystery, the whole idea behind it. It left me warm and fuzzy at the end in a way I can’t describe. (Probably because I’m an Italian Catholic girl) I can’t talk about it too much in case the other 2 people who haven’t read the book yet read my blog :giggle: But I really did love this movie

The Lake House – I thought this was going to be a blah movie, a way to pass the time. It wasn’t. It was a great movie with an awesome twist, and it had Sandra Bullock, whom I adore, reuniting with Keanu Reaves from their Speed days. I thought it was adorable, and I cried my eyes out at the end, sobby sappy twit that I am. I really enjoyed this movie a lot.

Rumor Has it – This is the one with Jennifer Aniston who thinks her family was the topic for The Graduate. With Kevin Costner and Shirley MacLaine, who is a freakin riot in this movie. I laughed my ass off and I was entertained through the whole movie. Oh, and I cried, too. Wtf, am I hormonal or something?

Crank – Jason Statham – what’s not to like? And you even get to see his nekked ass. Sadly, I found this movie incredibly stupid. And I love love love action movies. His girlfriend is dumber than a box of rocks. I was bored through most of it, which really bummed me.

That’s it for now. Coming up next from Netflix is Casino Royale. Really looking forward to seeing it, even though I didn’t really want to. But everyone who’s seen it says great things about it, so I’m relenting. :boobie:

So what else should go in my Netflix queue? What have y’all seen lately that you’ve loved?
