Omg It’s Monday Again?

Wasn’t it just Monday yesterday? :hide:

I actually managed to cross a few things off my To Do list from last week.

Still working on my book, which has been retitled. Born To Be Wild is now Riding Wild. I like that title. Liked the original title too, but when the publisher says retitle, you do it.

The Superbowl was good. Even the game was interesting, though I wasn’t heavily invested in either team. But I do enjoy a good game. The commercials were great, though. So was Prince, who I thought rocked the halftime show.

For this week, I’m barreling ahead with Riding Wild, which needs to be a strong focus this month. Among the usual daily hysteria.

So…the To Do’s….

1. Write like mad on Riding Wild
2. Prep for booksigning on Friday (see post below for details)
3. Read more RITA books (I’m REALLY enjoying these!)
4. Work on proposal on Demon Hunters book 3. (Ignored it last week in favor of Riding Wild. Must work on it this week. Really.) Edited to add: Heard from my editor. Hunting the Demon has officially been put to bed and sent to copyediting, which means my agent is ready for the next Demon Hunters proposal NOW. So guess we’ll move this one to #1 on the list. Woo hoo!
5. More book blogging. :giggle:
6. Edited to add: Angie reminded me that edits are coming for Nothing Personal this week. Sleep? What sleep? I don’t need no stinkin sleep.

What’s on your list for the week?

And it’s still freakin cold here! Where’s spring?

More Yummy Book Stuff!

I got asked to do a cover quote for an author’s upcoming book! I’m so excited, because this is the sequel to a book I thoroughly loved. I got the book from her publisher yesterday and can’t wait to dig in and read it! (more reading! And yes, it counts as an ARC :boobie:)

So I’ve been reading and judging the RITA books I got. The fun thing about judging the RITAs is the chance to find new authors I never knew about. I’m reading one now that I never heard of and really enjoying her book. In fact, biker dude made me put the book down and come to bed last night. I was engrossed and didn’t want to go to sleep. This is what makes judging fun, because her book is great! Too bad I can’t talk about it, since judging is secret. Oh, well. Later, maybe. :giggle:

Did you all know that Gena Showalter’s The Nymph King is out? Fantastic book. The cover is hot, the hero is hotter and the world of Atlantis is beautiful. There’s adventure, sex, mystery, sex, water (of course), sex, the heroine is spunky and witty…and did I mention that it was hot hot hot? You must read this book! I really enjoyed it. Gena made me sweat with this one.

And speaking of books, Renee Luke’s Dipped in Chocolate has released, and how timely for Valentine’s Day. Just look at that cover!

Check out the book here

Dipped in Chocolate
NAL / Signet
ISBN: 0451220315 (trade paperback)
February 2007

Romance has never been as temptingly sweet as it is in this trio of erotic treats from an author who knows how to seduce…and deliver.

In Gimme Some Sugar…Jackson never realized how much he loved his best friend Alexis—until her wedding day was on the horizon. Now all he has to do is convince her that their harmless kissing games over the years weren’t so harmless after all. In fact, they may end up breaking his heart.

In 4 U Sweetheart…
Toni never imagined that a night of speed-dating could lead to something serious. But three minutes with the hunk of her dreams changed that. Especially after he slipped her a candy heart that said “Pick Me”…

In Dipped in Chocolate…
Nathan wants a special delicacy for his sister’s bridal shower. He finds it in Jayla, the owner of a decadent chocolate shop. As hot as she is, Jayla’s not looking for a fling. As hot as he’s getting, Nathan may have to abandon his bachelor ways for a piece of chocolate that’s a little more solid.

Monday, Books and Shoes

I bought new shoes yesterday. Gorgeous new shoes for my upcoming booksigning. Something about girlie shoes just does something for my happy meter. Biker dude took me out to breakfast, then was forced to trek the mall with me–he was not happy about it, but as usual was a real trooper about the whole thing, especially since I didn’t linger at the mall. :giggle:

Then we went to Barnes & Noble where they had Surviving Demon Island in three places! They featured it on the paperback revolving rack right as you walk in the door, it’s on the New In Romances shelf in the romance section as well as alphabetized on the romance shelf. I love that B&N!

So, on to this week’s To Do List. I made some progress on last week’s list and knocked out a few major to do’s, so that’s a relief. This week I still have some leftovers from last week that didn’t get done (like go to the Post office–oops). But I promise that I’m going this week.

To Do’s:

1. Work on Born To Be Wild
2. Go to Post Office
3. Hair appointment (I so need a haircut)
4. Make pups appointment at groomer (THEY so need a haircut!)
5. Blog about some awesome books I’ve read
6. Read and judge RITA books (can’t blog about those…sorry, it’s a secret :giggle:)
7. Work on proposal for next Demon Hunter book.
8. Blog about new book releasing.

That’s enough for me. I need to really make some headway in my book. Serious headway. Deadline is approaching.

What’s on your to do list?
