What’s Going On?

I hope y’all are back to it this week. I know I am.

I made some awesome progress on The Ties That Bind last week (my Berkley novella), so hoping to continue that this week.

I got a new toy last week that’s been consuming a lot of my time–a Blackberry Pearl. It’s black, so I’ve dubbed my phone The Black Pearl (gotta love Pirates Of The Caribbean to understand the reference :giggle:). Anyway, I’m still in learning mode and had to have AT&T’s help several times to do some updates for me (and may I just say I’ve had some rockin awesome AT&T customer service people helping me. I love when people actually know their jobs. Thank you, AT&T!). But I’ve just about got it working the way I want it to, so I’m pretty happy with it.

Biker Dude and I watched the latest Die Hard movie over the weekend. I suffered major action and explosion overload, but it was a typical Die Hard movie so even though my head was spinning and my eyeballs were bugging out and my disbelief was overly suspended, we enjoyed it. Next up is the Harry Potter movie which hopefully will arrive from Netflix by tomorrow.

This week I’ll be singing the praises of some awesome ARCs I’ve read lately. I might also be talking about some of my books (imagine that). I’m also thinking of changing up my sidebar a bit and listing the books I read this year (Edited to add: Already did that on left sidebar…what do you think?) I keep wanting to do that somewhere just so I can keep track of what I read during the year. It’s always nice to take a look back at what we read, and if I don’t start listing them, I forget. Know what I mean?

So what are y’all up to?

Monday!

Had a great, but tiring weekend. Thanksgiving with the relatives, then a trip out of town for a family wedding, which was lovely. It’s always nice seeing my family (who all live out of state), so having them all in one place for my nephew’s wedding was wonderful. I got to see them all at once. We had a great time, but came home yesterday utterly exhausted.

It seems like the older I get, the less I like to travel. It never comes at a convenient time (hello…massive deadline crunch), and the whole hotel/hours in the car thing makes me cranky. I like staying home. I like my own bed. I like being with my dogs. But, alas, you do what you gotta do for family.

So my goal this week is to finish my book. I need 15K-20K to finish it. I have to work 2 days this week and take my mother-in-law to the dentist this week, too. And go to the grocery store. And do laundry. Think I can crank 20K out this week too?

:chair:

Yeah, I don’t think so either. But that’s my goal. I really want the first draft done by the end of November, so I can take the entire month of December for editing.

I’ll let you know how it goes.

Anyone doing any Christmas shopping? I’ve already started…and it’s entirely online. I don’t have time to shop this year, so a lot of my shopping is going to be done online. My UPS man is going to hate me. :giggle:

It’s November?

Holy crap. It’s November. Wasn’t it just January? How come the older I get the faster the years go by? This sucks. 😥

Hope your Halloween was fun. My granddaughter scored some serious candy. And she went through a haunted house, unafraid. The kid is 4. She’s fearless.

My 70 day writing challenge is rockin. I’m racking up some serious word count this week. I’m pretty sure the book sucks, but hey, I’ve got word count, right? :giggle: Seriously, I always think my books suck while I’m writing them, so I’m pretty used to feeling this way as I go through a book. I tend to make them “pretty” after I finish them and start editing. In the meantime…..I’m writing and that’s all that counts, right?

This weekend Biker Dude and I hope to take a ride and check out the fall foliage while the weather is still nice. It’s supposed to hit 75 on Sunday before we get a big cold front move through, so we’re going to take advantage of a nice biking day and go for a ride to see all the colors of nature. Though I find the wind is still cold even if the sun is hot. You can definitely tell it’s fall.

What’s on your agenda for the weekend?
