Wishing a Happy Birthday to my husband, Biker Dude!
He’s at work today, working without power, in the cold. (Such a dedicated guy, huh?)
My husband is an amazing man. A man with a serious work ethic, driven and dedicated, who’ll always be there no matter what. He’s a man I can depend on. He’s strong, smart, warm and funny, and he loves his family and would do anything for them.
I’m a very lucky woman.

Our power came back on, which makes us one of the lucky people, since hundreds of thousands of people in our area are still without power. Biker Dude still has no power at work. He grabbed a generator from one of the contractors so he could at least power up a portion of the shop.
I’m ever so thankful for heat, electricity, light and INTERNET! I missed everything internet related, and all day long I’ve been working to catch up on finishing up editing this book so I can get it to my editor on time.
In the meantime, here are some pics of our poor pear trees that really took the hit in the ice storm.
By the time Biker Dude cuts all the trees down, we’ll have plenty of firewood for the next (God forbid) power outage.
Had a great, but tiring weekend. Thanksgiving with the relatives, then a trip out of town for a family wedding, which was lovely. It’s always nice seeing my family (who all live out of state), so having them all in one place for my nephew’s wedding was wonderful. I got to see them all at once. We had a great time, but came home yesterday utterly exhausted.
It seems like the older I get, the less I like to travel. It never comes at a convenient time (hello…massive deadline crunch), and the whole hotel/hours in the car thing makes me cranky. I like staying home. I like my own bed. I like being with my dogs. But, alas, you do what you gotta do for family. :heart:
So my goal this week is to finish my book. I need 15K-20K to finish it. I have to work 2 days this week and take my mother-in-law to the dentist this week, too. And go to the grocery store. And do laundry. Think I can crank 20K out this week too?

Yeah, I don’t think so either. But that’s my goal. I really want the first draft done by the end of November, so I can take the entire month of December for editing.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Anyone doing any Christmas shopping? I’ve already started…and it’s entirely online. I don’t have time to shop this year, so a lot of my shopping is going to be done online. My UPS man is going to hate me. :giggle:
