Happy St Patrick’s Day! Are you wearing green today?

I’m not at all Irish. Italian and German here. Still wearing green though. One must get into the spirit of things, ya know. Even Biker Dude went to work decked out in green today, and he’s not Irish either. :giggle:

So last week was busy. I had an appointment of some sort or another every single day last week. For some reason that really cuts into my writing mojo. I like to get up in the morning, sit at my desk and get to work. Anything that makes me stop screws with my writing flow. Urgh. But I still managed 12,000 words last week. I wanted to get 15,000. I blame all those appointments.

At least the word count is on track. I want to finish this book by the end of the month. We’ll see how I do. This weekend I wrote myself into a plot corner again and spent a lot of time staring at the words on the page, trying to figure out how to get two characters in the same geographical place who weren’t in the same place at the moment, and a plotline that required them to stay in different places. Oy. I think I have it figured out and I’m moving on. (I’ve found that staring at the page really gets you nowhere. You have to keep writing. You can fix it later)

Tonight the Writeminded gals are chatting at Writerspace at 9 p.m. Eastern. Come visit with me, Steph Tyler, Larissa Ione, Amy Knupp and Maya Banks and talk about…well, we tend to talk just about anything :giggle:

Anyone have fun plans for St Patrick’s Day? Hitting an Irish pub? Making corned beef and cabbage? I’ve never made it, but I love to eat it. We’re out of food here and I haven’t been to the grocery store yet so it might be peanut butter and jelly sandwiches tonight. Um, Irish Jelly. Heh.

My Reality TV Rundown

I’m going to talk about the Project Runway finale (among other shows). There be spoilers ahead, so don’t read on if you don’t want to know who wins.

I have to say I loved all 3 finalists. I loved Chris, too. It was hard to see him go. But I knew on the runway when Christian got the biggest applause that he was probably going to win. And that last evening dress he paraded down the runway? Fierce (to coin Christian’s favorite word). For a 21 year old, the kid is talented.

That being said, I loved Jillian’s and Rami’s collections too. I think the judges had a difficult time making a choice for the winner. Frankly I did too. I wanted them all to win. There was good and bad in all 3 of their collections. Too bad there could only be one winner. But I do adore Christian. And so does Christian. *g*

I finally caught up to America’s Next Top Model since I missed the first couple shows. I actually laughed out loud when Alison got the boot. Miss “I’m the most experienced, I rocked the photo shoot and the other girls are going to suck.” Ha! Buh bye. (Yes, I hate that kind of overconfident arrogrance. She won’t be missed.)

American Idol. They think this year is the biggest talent pool ever? Please. Season 5. Daughtry, Mandisa, Paris Bennett,Lisa Tucker, Kelli Pickler, Ace, Katherine McPhee, Elliot Yamin. They got stronger each week. And every week I chewed nails wondering who the hell they were going to vote off because the talent pool was phenomenal. Best. Season. Ever. This one doesn’t even come close. There are a couple talented singers. The rest? Totally forgettable. They could vote off 3/4 of them right now and no one would miss them.

Tonight is Make Me A Supermodel. Fun show. Can’t wait to see who goes next. I have a couple favorites, but I already know who’s going to win, I think.

And so much for my opinions for the day 😉

What’s Your Dream Anthology?

A couple weeks ago Dear Author posted a few of my favorite authors has signed on to do an anthology together. (Congrats again, Nalini, Meljean and Ilona!). Then they asked what would be your dream anthology to read…in other words, what authors would you like to see together in one book?

We had some fun that day. As a writer, I of course had to put myself in the mix, and decided I’d love to be in any book with Nora (what writer wouldn’t? :giggle: ). I think a romantic suspense anthology with Nora Roberts, Linda Howard and Allison Brennan would be great! As long as I could be in it too. Heh. (Hey, I always dream big. Nothing wrong with that, right?)

And I’d love to do a paranormal anthology with Meljean Brook, Nalini Singh, Lara Adrian, Gena Showalter, Sydney Croft, JR Ward, Jackie Kessler, Richelle Mead….hmmm, this list could get really long.

I’ve always wanted to do another anthology with my friend Lora Leigh. But her schedule and mine haven’t meshed well enough to figure out how to do that yet. We did one together several years ago when we were both writing for Ellora’s Cave. I’d love to do one with her again someday. We frequently talk about it still. Maybe we’lll figure out how to get our schedules in sync so it could happen. I’d also love to do a hot and sexy anthology with HelenKay Dimon, Julie Leto, Carly Phillips, Janelle Denison, Leslie Kelley, Allison Kent, Jill Monroe…well that list could go on and on…

And of course one of these days my BB’s Melani Blazer, Mandy Roth, Shannon Stacey and I will write that anthology about the silver shovel. :shovel: (Really….don’t ask)

I’m such a huge fan of so many authors. Being in the same book with them would be an honor. I really do love anthologies as a reader, too. They give me a chance to read new authors I haven’t read yet, along with some of my favorites. I’ve found a lot of new authors this way and fallen in love with their writing.

So what’s your dream anthology? Who would you love to see partner up in one book for your reader enjoyment?
