Nalini Singh’s Visions of Heat

Visions of Heat

I read….no let’s say I devoured Nalini’s first book in the Psy/Changeling series, Slave to Sensation, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second, Visions of Heat. So when I saw on her blog she was doing an ARC contest, I begged and cajoled an ARC of Visions of Heat.

And she gave me one. :boobie:

I read the book in one night. One single night. Stayed up until 3 a.m. reading Visions of Heat. Now y’all know my deadlines and work schedule. I rarely read a book in one sitting. I’m way too busy to read. This book sucked me in and would not let go.

I love the world Nalini has created. The Psy, the Changelings, everything about them is intriguing. One ruled by intellect, one ruled by their passions. It’s an amazing and explosive combination. And Faith and Vaughn together were an incredible match right from the start, a unique pairing of one formidable, passionate jaguar and one lost, confused, yet highly intelligent Psy who didn’t want to simply walk away from all she’d known, who refused to believe that all she’d been led to believe was wrong. In Vaughn’s world, it’s very black and white. It’s either good or it’s bad. In Faith’s world, there are a myriad of shades of gray. And she saw what could be. (and yes, I’m being very vague here in order not to give away the plot).

The sexual tension between Vaughn and Faith was explosive from their very first meeting. His patience and restraint was something to behold, and it kept me riveted through every agonizing chapter. Faith’s gradual withdrawal from cold Psy to warm, willing woman was believable and natural.

Nalini is a phenomenal talent. Visions of Heat did not disappoint in either plot or characterization. It’s as good, possibly even better, than Slave to Sensation. If you haven’t read the first book, go get it now and prepare yourself for Visions of Heat. They’re both exceptional reads.

Visions of Heat releases March 6th.
