  1. Mmmmm Aretha

And darn you… you’ve made me wrack my brain and media player library for that silly Green Onion song.

  2. I like Unchained Melody and Crazy. Have you heard Il Divo’s version of UM?

The Dixie Cups? Seriously? Yeah, I’d want to name myself after disposable paper goods.

  3. I love all of those…
I’ll have to come back to your blog later if I have an annoying song stuck in my head…

  4. Unchained Melody and Dream are two favorites of mine. And I love the cover for Hunting the Demon.

  5. http://www.oldielyrics.com/lyrics/j_frank_wilson_and_the_cavaliers/last_kiss.html

The Last Kiss (it was remade by Pearl Jam but I loved the original before Pearl Jam had ever even thought of remaking it). I still love the original more than the remake. It’s got that oldie feel.

I also love, It’s My Party (and I’ll Cry if I Want to)

Actually, I have a whole list. I could do my own Thursday Thirteen and then some!

  6. Some good memories here!

  7. I love most of the songs on the list. I don’t know any of the Rolling Stone songs though.

  8. :hips:
So cool to be on the same wave length as an awesome author. Mine are from the 80’s. Love all of these songs, especially I Got You Babe. It always cheers me up.

  9. Spirit in the Sky! One of my all-time favorites. Now I bet no one knows Spirit’s I’ve Got a Line on You….anyone???

  10. Those are all great songs. Sympathy for the Devil, I forgot about that one.

    Great list. Happy TT!

    :doglick:

  11. I love the oldies. I just bought The Drifters greatest hits. I’m going to be replaying Save The Last Dance For Me until I make myself sick of it. :)

  12. I’ve not heard of any of these!

  13. Great list! We saw the Stones last fall, and Sympathy for the Devil was one of the songs I *really* wanted them to play. My DH, who’s seen them a few times before, said he didn’t think it’d make the playlist.

It did. With a great stage set-up (flames, red lighting, the works). I told him it was because the show was on my birthday.

Now, I’ll have to go dig up some of my CDs just because you’ve put me in the mood… LOL!

  14. I’ve not heard of any of these!

That’s because you’re not an oldie, May

  15. I’ve seen the Stones in concert too,Kate. They were incredible. Mick can still work the stage, and it doesn’t matter how old he gets. :boobie:

  16. Neat list! My favorites are She Wore and itsy-bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini, that she wore for the first time today… and He was a one-eyed, one-horned flying purple people eater… the fun songs!

  17. Slightly just before my time, but all very good songs. The Rolling Stones were just so awesome!

    Happy TT, Jaci!

  18. I love Sympathy! That’s a great one for cranking up when I’m bombing down the highway on my way home from work. And Unchained Melody has some great memories for me.

  19. My 12 yr old loves the song When a Man Loves a Woman! He used to always sing it and I thought it was so cute he loved a classic song so much.

Great list - I love oldies.

  20. Great songs—Hearing some of those always makes me think of the beach for some reason.

  21. I like your list. It looks like you’ve been picking through my 45’s.

  22. Great list. My all time favorite group is the Temptations. Soooo many memories from the 60s.

  23. GREAT topic. I love me some “oldies” songs…I love the 70’s–Chicago (Colour My World is my FAVORITE by them), Bread, The Carpenters…aaaaaah…

  24. Great list! I love all those songs as well. Such great songs came from the 50’s and 60’s! :D

  25. I was just listening to Otis last night - I grew up with Motown (my dad is a huge Motown fan) and I often listen to it when I’m writing. It was Otis and then a lot of Supremes and Marvin Gaye.

  26. Oh, do these bring back memories! And what a great theme. I just may have to use it one day!

  27. Great song choices, Jaci! I love most of these as well.

  28. OMG, at least 10 of those are on my MP3 player (and I swear I came up with my 13 before I read yours!)

  29. Love your list Jaci!

    I LOVE Unchained Melody…such a romantic song!

  30. Ooooh… Spirit in the Sky. I haven’t heard that in a looooong time. Great list! Now I’m gonna hear that guitar riff in my head all day long. Thanks. I think. :away:

Squeee!!! No I hadn’t seen that! Squeee!!!

    :cheer:

  36. House of the Rising Sun gets me every time. The Animals were fantastic!

    :cheer:

  37. *lol* I have the Santa Esmeralda version of “House of the Raising Sun” on MP3. Not long ago I downloaded “Spirit in the Sky” too. Reminds me of my 9th. grade year… :wiggle:

  38. Excellent list. Love all of them (except Sympathy for the Devil…can’t stand that one)!

  39. Sis and I used to sing 13 over and over and over…
Why did I always have to be Sonny thought? :gorgeous:

  40. Sonny and Cher. I’m such an oldie, I remember watching their TV show. I wish they’d air a variety show on TV now. Those were a lot of fun.

  41. Great list :) I love Spirit In The Sky. It’s one that pops into my head for not reason. Yes, I’m late for Thursday, but this was my first T13 week, so, um, that’s my excuse.
