Mmmmm Aretha
And darn you… you’ve made me wrack my brain and media player library for that silly Green Onion song.
by Emma Wayne Porter March 15th, 2007 at 6:26 amI like Unchained Melody and Crazy. Have you heard Il Divo’s version of UM?
The Dixie Cups? Seriously? Yeah, I’d want to name myself after disposable paper goods.
by Shannon March 15th, 2007 at 7:08 amI love all of those…
by Angela March 15th, 2007 at 7:09 amI’ll have to come back to your blog later if I have an annoying song stuck in my head…
Unchained Melody and Dream are two favorites of mine. And I love the cover for Hunting the Demon.
by Sydney March 15th, 2007 at 7:20 amhttp://www.oldielyrics.com/lyrics/j_frank_wilson_and_the_cavaliers/last_kiss.html
The Last Kiss (it was remade by Pearl Jam but I loved the original before Pearl Jam had ever even thought of remaking it). I still love the original more than the remake. It’s got that oldie feel.
I also love, It’s My Party (and I’ll Cry if I Want to)
Actually, I have a whole list. I could do my own Thursday Thirteen and then some!
by Angela James March 15th, 2007 at 8:10 amSome good memories here!
by Wylie Kinson March 15th, 2007 at 8:40 amI love most of the songs on the list. I don’t know any of the Rolling Stone songs though.
by scooper March 15th, 2007 at 8:53 am:hips:
by Heather Rae Scott March 15th, 2007 at 8:56 amSo cool to be on the same wave length as an awesome author. Mine are from the 80’s. Love all of these songs, especially I Got You Babe. It always cheers me up.
Spirit in the Sky! One of my all-time favorites. Now I bet no one knows Spirit’s I’ve Got a Line on You….anyone???
by Ciar Cullen March 15th, 2007 at 9:00 amThose are all great songs. Sympathy for the Devil, I forgot about that one.
Great list. Happy TT!
by Amy Ruttan March 15th, 2007 at 9:07 amI love the oldies. I just bought The Drifters greatest hits. I’m going to be replaying Save The Last Dance For Me until I make myself sick of it.
by Amanda Young March 15th, 2007 at 9:11 amI’ve not heard of any of these!
by May March 15th, 2007 at 9:21 amGreat list! We saw the Stones last fall, and Sympathy for the Devil was one of the songs I *really* wanted them to play. My DH, who’s seen them a few times before, said he didn’t think it’d make the playlist.
It did. With a great stage set-up (flames, red lighting, the works). I told him it was because the show was on my birthday.
Now, I’ll have to go dig up some of my CDs just because you’ve put me in the mood… LOL!
by Kate Davies March 15th, 2007 at 9:23 amI’ve not heard of any of these!
That’s because you’re not an oldie, May
by Jaci March 15th, 2007 at 9:23 amI’ve seen the Stones in concert too,Kate. They were incredible. Mick can still work the stage, and it doesn’t matter how old he gets.
by Jaci March 15th, 2007 at 9:46 amNeat list! My favorites are She Wore and itsy-bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini, that she wore for the first time today… and He was a one-eyed, one-horned flying purple people eater… the fun songs!
by Annmarie McKenna March 15th, 2007 at 10:33 amSlightly just before my time, but all very good songs. The Rolling Stones were just so awesome!
Happy TT, Jaci!
by Annie March 15th, 2007 at 10:39 amI love Sympathy! That’s a great one for cranking up when I’m bombing down the highway on my way home from work. And Unchained Melody has some great memories for me.
by Christine d'Abo March 15th, 2007 at 11:17 amMy 12 yr old loves the song When a Man Loves a Woman! He used to always sing it and I thought it was so cute he loved a classic song so much.
Great list - I love oldies.

by Brenda Williamson March 15th, 2007 at 11:57 amGreat list. My all time favorite group is the Temptations. Soooo many memories from the 60s.

by Rebecca Goings March 15th, 2007 at 1:09 pmI was just listening to Otis last night - I grew up with Motown (my dad is a huge Motown fan) and I often listen to it when I’m writing. It was Otis and then a lot of Supremes and Marvin Gaye.
by Lauren March 15th, 2007 at 1:13 pmOh, do these bring back memories! And what a great theme. I just may have to use it one day!

by Karen March 16th, 2007 at 8:58 amWhy did I always have to be Sonny thought? :gorgeous:
Sonny and Cher. I’m such an oldie, I remember watching their TV show. I wish they’d air a variety show on TV now. Those were a lot of fun.
by Kate Willoughby March 16th, 2007 at 4:54 pmGreat list
I love Spirit In The Sky. It’s one that pops into my head for not reason. Yes, I’m late for Thursday, but this was my first T13 week, so, um, that’s my excuse.
