1. A week long vacation with Charlie. No internet, no deadlines, no work (his or mine), no family, no phones, no stress. Someplace tropical, with an ocean, a beach, and lots of alcohol. 2. A sunroom/enclosed back porch 3. A double recliner so I can snuggle with Charlie 4. High Speed Internet (please God let this come to my town soon) 5. Having one of my books hit a bestseller list just once before I die 6. Charlie’s retirement 7. Credit cards with a zero balance 8. No mortgage 9. Dogs that actually come to me when I call them (they do this inside the house – why won’t they come to me when they’re outside? Twits) 10. The perfect office desk. With drawers to put things in, and enough space on top. And not messy. Ha! 11. A family picture with me, Charlie and all our kids in it. Because that would mean we’d all be in one place at one time, typically an impossibility. *sigh* 12. Bookshelves. Lots and lots of bookshelves. And the space to put them in. 13. Fingernails that would actually grow. Nice, long, pretty nails. Links to other Thursday Thirteens! |

My covet list would look a lot like yours, only replace Charlie with Mark for me. ( Don’t want anyone to think I want to steal your hubby :bat: )
I have a good feeling that you will see your name on the bestseller list and very soon.

by Heather Rae Scott November 9th, 2006 at 8:58 amI covet the bookshelves.
And the weeklong vacation. Especially the vacation.
by May November 9th, 2006 at 9:27 amWhat a wonderful list! #9 made me laugh, because that’s how it is with my pup.
As for #12, it reminded me of visiting the parents of a friend of mine. They had built in bookshelves in just about every room of their house. Beautifully trimmed and everything. And they owned not ONE SINGLE BOOK! It made me want to cry…
by Annie November 9th, 2006 at 10:12 amI always seem to stop by on Thursdays. LOL. I’d never be able to think of 13 things at a time. Terrible that way! But I do have a cool picture of my dad fighting a fire from 1970 and a quilt my mom made from it on my blog.
And you WILL make the bestseller lists. I’m sure Surviving Demon Island will!!!!
by Cheyenne McCray November 9th, 2006 at 10:26 amI really want a vacation and an ecnlosed porch, too…
by Diana November 9th, 2006 at 10:28 amAnd the bestseller list, and pretty nails… yeah pretty much everyting. But high speed I’ve got.
Awwww…thank you Rae
May - Bookshelves are important to us readers. I have 1. And it overflows in an obscene way.
Annie - Ack. Empty? Empty? Ack!
Chey - Yeah you do pop by on Thursdays dontcha? Oooh I’ll check out your blog. And thanks for your faith in me!
Diana - I’m jealous of everyone with high speed. The only thing I hate about where we live. *sigh*
by Jaci November 9th, 2006 at 10:35 amI’m so sorry to hear you’ve been battling a cold for days. I hope it clears up soon!!
by Annie November 9th, 2006 at 11:52 amOK, I covet almost everything on your list (and like someone above just replace Charlie with Steve). I do have high speed interent, thank God! My doggie is over the rainbow bridge but I’d like children who listen and do what they’re told so same thing LOL. I would like any bookshelves at all because at our last house they were builtins and now we have none. It’s horrible having all my favourites in boxes.
by Michelle November 9th, 2006 at 1:18 pmMe too.

by Melani Blazer » Thursday Thirteen November 9th, 2006 at 3:19 pmJaci - Do you have a cell phone provider? And do they offer cell phone internet? I know Verizon does, though I don’t know if you have to be in a certain area.
by Alison Kent November 9th, 2006 at 5:16 pmThanks Annie!
Michelle - No bookshelves? Ack!
Alison - Yeah, we’re contemplating Cingular for cell phone internet, but it’s not that much faster than dialup and it costs $60 a month. We’re still hoping SBC will get out here with DSL really soon. Have already tried satellite internet and that was awful. *sigh*
by Jaci November 9th, 2006 at 5:20 pmI’d love a sunroom or enclosed porch! And a vacation would be great too. The nails, I know, I’ll never get, but I can keep hoping on the other stuff…
Thanks for stopping by!
by Alyssa Goodnight November 9th, 2006 at 6:53 pmAlyssa

by aka-mom November 9th, 2006 at 7:34 pmI’d kill for 5,7,and 12. Great list.
by Scooper November 9th, 2006 at 7:36 pmI have high speed internet, but my computer is a 75 pound dinosaur from the 80’s that is slowly putting a funny dip in my desk and won’t travel with me anywhere!
-and you’re on my personal bestseller list {probably doesnt make you feel any better lol-but its true :} I have no doubt that goal is well within your reach.
-Nails-oh me too! And fingers that dont look like pigs in a blanket-that’d be nice :}
by RG November 9th, 2006 at 7:59 pmMmmm… Double recliner - that sounds heavenly! Great list. Mine’s up - drop by anytime
by Susan November 9th, 2006 at 8:11 pmOh vacation sounds really nice!

by Christine d'Abo November 10th, 2006 at 1:45 pmA big thing I’m seriouly coveting right now is a place of my own to write. Somewhere I could shut the door and keep the distractions (husband and children) away. Just for a little while.
