New Book Deal!!!

I’m thrilled to announce that I sold two more books to Berkley for their HEAT line (erotic romance) !!! I’m so excited! I don’t know what the books will be about yet. Doing a little brainstorming right now, but they’ll be out in 2011 and as soon as I know more details I’ll let you know.

And Thus Goes My Life Lately…

Ha! I opened this new blog page at 7:30 this morning to do a blog post. It’s now 1:30 central time and I just found it again, buried under 12 other browser pages.

You know how it goes. You grab your cup of coffee in the morning and start surfing the web, reading blogs and emails and Twitter. And suddenly you’re clicking on this link and that link and before you know it you’ve got 24 browser windows open and what you originally set out to do (which was to blog) has been lost.

Or maybe that’s just me :giggle:

Oh, and y’all can forget whatever amazing and informative topic I was going to blog about at 7:30 this morning. Whatever I had in my head then is long gone now. I know…you’re all amazed I can manage to get entire books written, aren’t you? :gah:

laced-with-desire

If you read the UNLACED anthology that released last December, you’ll be happy to know that Berkley asked all the authors–me, Jasmine Haynes, Joey Hill and Denise Rossetti, to do another anthology, and I couldn’t be happier about working with these incredibly talented authors again.

LACED WITH DESIRE releases in February, 2010. It’s already available for preorder on Amazon.

Blurb below!

Rough hands rounding the curves of a soft warm body—caressing, stroking,
edging her toward exquisite pleasure…

Seduction is a cinch in these four all-new sizzling stories
from the hot authors of Unlaced…

Jaci Burton breaks the rule of mixing business with pleasure when two professional rivals cross paths at a tropical resort. She figures she can handle a fling with no strings attached. He’s out to show her that she figured wrong.

Jasmine Haynes explores the lust of a former supermodel who needs to finally fulfill a no-holds-barred sexual fantasy. Finding two men to do it with is easy. But are they up to giving her all the pleasure she’s been denied?

Joey W. Hill reveals the erotic bond between a master and the beautiful submissive who stole his heart. Recapturing their night of unparalleled passion won’t be easy—until a specific piece of lingerie comes into play.

Denise Rossetti goes beyond the limits of desire when she pairs a battle-scarred veteran of love and war with a woman who’s just as fearless and twice as dangerous. What happens between them is positively combustible. But what a way to go.

Every touch is

And We Have A Title!!!

My editor and I have finally finished our Dance Of The Book Titles for the next Wild Riders book (Pax and AJ’s book). Thanks again to everyone who suggested titles, because I used a lot of them in my suggestions to her. We ended up narrowing it down to two or three, and finally decided on…….

RIDING THE NIGHT

I love that title. It fits the book perfectly. So a huge thanks to Dawn Montgomery who suggested that title. Dawn, you’ll be mentioned on the book dedication page with my utmost thanks and I’ll send you an autographed copy when it releases. Plus I have another little thank you goodie to send you, so I’ll be emailing you about that too. :giggle:

Thanks again everyone! Hope you like the title, and remember that RIDING THE NIGHT will release in Sept 2010, so mark your calendars.

The Family That Tattoos Together….

Okay I don’t have an ending to that sentence. Heh.

Biker Dude, our daughter and I went to get tattoos together last night. Our daughter wanted a new one since last winter and wanted us to go with her and get tats also, so we agreed. I’ve already got a few and so does Biker Dude, so why not? I had originally wanted to get a skull tattoo (y’all know I have this thing for skulls, right? :giggle: ). But in the end, I just didn’t find one I loved enough to have permanent ink on my skin. Fortunately, the fabulous Shannon Stacey and I were talking yesterday morning and she gave me a really good idea, so I modified it a bit and went with it. I decided to incporate something about my writing career, and this is what the tattoo artist and I came up with:

j-tattoo

I love it. It’s on the inner side of my left wrist and it’s the first tattoo I have that I can actually see. Most of the others I have are all placed on my back or shoulder so I can never see them. Wheee!

Biker Dude’s tattoo:
charlie-tattoo

The skull is the new one. The one above it is an older one. I love how it turned out!

And our daughter’s tattoo:
ashley-tattoo

Hers turned out so pretty!

We had a lot of fun doing this. Weird family bonding, huh? :giggle:

Need Title Help!

So I’m off for a weekend on the Harley. We’re going to do a poker run up in northeast Oklahoma, which is always fun. Maybe we’ll win some money. Heh.

The weather gods are smiling on me and have dropped the temps from the 100’s into the 80’s (bless you, Mother Nature!), so it looks like it’s going to be a great weekend for bike riding. Yay!

I’m working on AJ and Pax’s story, my Wild Riders for those who are familiar with that series. And if you aren’t familiar with the series, you can read about it here. I need some title help for AJ and Pax’s story. All my previous Wild Riders books have been titled with “Riding” in the title - Riding Wild, Riding Temptation, Riding On Instinct and the upcoming Riding The Edge novella releasing next year. This book is going to have some pretty deep emotional issues along with the hawt sex and trademark suspense that go along with all my Wild Riders books. My heroine has suffered a trauma, and this book isn’t going to be light and easy. So I’m searching for a title that fits the story. If you have some ideas for something that is emotional yet sexy and goes along with “Riding” in the title, I’m all over it. And I’ll even offer up a prize if I end up choosing one of the titles. Okay, I’ll offer up a prize anyway, so comment away and I’ll draw a winner or two from all the commenters when I get back from the weekend trip.

Conferences, Guest Blogging & Other Stuff

The awesome Angela James blog, talking about the RWA National conference and my love hate relationship with it. I’m offering up one of my books if you comment, so head on over!

Also, if you’re a writer and not at the conference this week,New York Times Bestselling Author Lynn Viehl is having a Left Behind & Loving It Workshop at her blog, Paperback Writer. She does this every year during the conference and trust me, she’s brilliant and you don’t want to miss what she has to say. Plus she puts up links to other blogs putting on mini workshops, so do check it out. In addition, she gives away some killer prizes. Talk about incentive! I participated last year and had a great time doing so, but am swamped this year and didn’t pull my head out of my ass soon enough to get a workshop together. Alas. But hey, it won’t stop me from heading over there every day to do some learnin’.

Hey! I’m Still Here!

Apologies for neglecting my blog lately. Between family visits and rehabbing the Lab (who sheds hair in my house like damn and whoa) and the trip to Houston last week, and then trying to fit in some book writing time in there, it’s been bizzzzeeeee! But hey, you can always find me on Twitter if you’re so inclined to listen to my nonsense in 140 characters or less. (And really, tell me you dig the skull on my Twitter page. Does that rock or what?)

Anyway, thought I’d post a few pics from the booksigning last week in Houston. The folks at Katy Budget Books were beyond awesome. If you live in that area, do hit up that bookstore because the greatest people in the world work there and they love romance!

Look! Look! They put Maya’s name and mine on their marquee! This alone makes them the BEST BOOKSTORE EVER! :giggle:

Here we are doing our thing–talkin books!

Me, the incredible Alison Kent who came to our booksigning, and the awesomely talented Maya Banks.

You have to love a bookstore that lets you play in the fingerpaints. Does this rock or what? (They do handprints of the authors who come to sign, then put them up on the wall. Loved it!)

So thanks again to Katy Budget Books. One of the best booksignings I’ve ever been to.
