March 31st Book Giveaway

Today is another ARC giveaway! Author Alison Kent is offering up an ARC of her upcoming release, NO LIMITS!

nolimits220

The Heat is On . . .

Simon Baptiste’s latest SG-5 mission just went south in a major way. With his career on ice for awhile, it seems like a good time to take care of some business back home in Louisiana. Simon knows it ain’t going to be pretty. He’s got some old enemies in Bayou Allain who won’t exactly roll out the red carpet. But Simon’s first night back is more than he bargained for. Not only has the homestead gone to hell in a hand basket, but there’s a half-naked woman hiding inside it—a woman whose face Simon knows all too well. It’s Michelina Ferrer, the sultry spokesmodel for her family’s Ferrer fragrance empire—and Simon’s been staring at her picture on a billboard outside his Manhattan apartment for weeks…

And It’s Only Getting Hotter . . .

Micky Ferrer came down to Bayou Allain looking for her old college friend, only to discover that Lisa Landry has been missing for days. As soon as Micky starts asking questions around town, someone runs her car off the road. She’s hiding out in the old Baptiste place when Simon shows up—and he’s the hottest thing she’s laid eyes on since she got to town. Simon agrees that something strange is going on and that Lisa’s disappearance may be tied to it. As he and Micky search for answers, the sweltering heat makes it hard to keep their heads straight or their hands off each other…even as they unravel the small-town secrets that some people are willing to kill for…

For more info on NO LIMITS, click here

Oooh la la does this sound like a hot hot hot book or what? Between the storyline and the settings, I’m all in and ready to read this one!

To be eligible to win today’s book, let’s talk storyline and setting. This book by Alison grabbed me at the blurb. New Orleans is a hot ticket for me. I love books set in the sultry bayou of Louisiana. And of course romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres. What about you? When you pick up a book and read the back cover blurb, what will make you snatch a book off the bookshelf (or put it in your online shopping cart) immediately? A certain setting, genre, city/state/country? What is it that sets off your ‘I have to have this book NOW’ meter?

Please don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear right away. Some comments are being moderated and I’ll grab them and release them.

Because my blog is being a giant pain in the ass and holding comments in moderation and in spam and it takes me a bit to go find them, I’m going to choose winners at the end of every week, on Saturday, instead of every day. So check back every Saturday to see if you’re one of the weekly book winners. Because I’m not going to hunt the winners down. You have to come here to see if you’ve won and then contact me with your info (Other than ARCS being sent by the authors offering them, I’ll be shipping all the winning books directly from Amazon). Otherwise, come back every day for a new book giveaway.

And don’t forget to enter the grand prize contest! You could win a $100 Amazon Gift Certificate, a $100 Harley Davidson purse, or other prizes. Share the widget for a chance to win! Rules and info here

making the visit permanent, but there’s just one score to settle.

for J.J. in this future? Welcome back to Dareville, the little town that

To be eligible to win this book, let’s talk about reunion romances. They’re some of my favorites. Lovers reunited just make my heart swell and I admit to searching out these kinds of books. What about you? What are some of your favorite reunion romances?

Please don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear right away. Some comments are being moderated and I’ll grab them and release them.

March 27th Book Giveaway

I can’t run this contest and talk about my friends, my peers, authors I drool over without talking about one of the best authors of erotic romance on the market today - Lora Leigh.

I’ve known Lora since our Ellora’s Cave days together. She’s grown as a mighty presence on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller list for her Breed books, her Bound Hearts books, her Nauti books, and her Seals books. So of course I have to give one of her books away. But oh…which one?

I think this one..maybe because Lora named the heroine Jaci? :giggle:

wickedpleasurelg

Jaci Wright has been running from Cameron Falladay, for seven years now. Fears of the desires he arouses in her, and the knowledge of the relationship he wanted with her spurred her to run, to find a life that kept hertraveling the globe and out of his reach. His and his twin brother’s.

But now, life has come full circle. A new job has placed Jaci in the Sinclair mansion with Cameron and his brother Chase. And Cam is tired of waiting. It’s hard enough to face accepting a relationship with Cam, knowing what he wants, but having the world her lover’s brother touches her as well fills her with dread. Gossip, rumors and the tattered tales of juicy secrets fill the society she now moves within. Can she face the world knowing she’s a lover to both men, or will her hesitancy and her fears destroy her chance of
happiness forever.

For more on Wicked Pleasure, click here

This is erotic romance, folks. And a menage. It will burn your fingers clean off. You have been warned. :giggle:

To be eligible to win this book, the question today is easy: What are your plans for the weekend? We’re expecting a freakin’ snowstorm, so I’ll be inside writing. I know…a snowstorm in late March. In Oklahoma. Ugh. I can’t tell you how much I’m over winter and ready for spring.

Please don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear right away. Some comments are being moderated and I’ll grab them and release them.

March 26 Book Giveaway

There are very few books and authors I glom their entire series, that I wait impatiently for the next book in the series. There are very few authors who are autobuy authors for me because I’m just damn picky and honestly, I just don’t have a ton of time to invest these days.

But Nalini Singh is an autobuy author for me, ever since I started reading her psy/changeling series. I know a lot of you have probably read it. And maybe a lot of you haven’t. But she’s an absolute favorite of mine, and since I’m spotlighting favorite authors here, and since Nalini was nominated for a RITA AWARD yesterday (Congrats Nalini!) for MINE TO POSSESS, one of the books in her psy/changeling series, I’m going to give away one of Nalini’s books in this series.

Today I’m going to do it a little differently. I’m going to give y’all a chance to choose which of Nalini’s books in the Psy/Changeling series you’d like to have if you win. So go here to Nalini’s website and take a look at each book, then tell me in the comments which of the books you’d like to have (please note that BRANDED BY FIRE isn’t out yet so you can’t have that one and if you list that book your entry will be disqualified).

Please don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear right away. Some comments are being moderated and I’ll grab them and release them.

March 25th Book Giveaway

Today we have another ARC giveaway, this one generously donated by Jeri Smith-Ready for her upcoming book, BAD TO THE BONE
bttb_cover_blog

BAD TO THE BONE (Pocket Books, May 19, 2009), Book 2 in the WVMP RADIO
urban fantasy series and sequel to WICKED GAME (which will be
available in mass market paperback March 31)

Back cover blurb:

Turn On. Tune In. Drop Dead.

If you’re just joining us, welcome to radio station WVMP, “The
Lifeblood of Rock ’n’ Roll.” Con-artist-turned-station-owner Ciara
Griffin manages an on-air staff of off-the-wall DJs–including her new
boyfriend Shane McAllister–who really sink their teeth into the music
of their ‘Life Time” (the era in which they became vampires). It’s
Ciara’s job to keep the undead rocking, the ratings rolling, and the
fan base alive—without missing a beat.

For Halloween, WVMP is throwing a bash sure to raise the dead. They’ve
got cool tunes, hot costumes, killer cocktails–what could go wrong?
Well, for starters, a religious firebrand ranting against the evils of
the occult preempts the station’s midnight broadcast. Then, when Ciara
tracks down the illegal transmission, the broadcast tower is guarded
by what appears to be…a canine vampire? And behind it all is a group
of self-righteous radicals who think vampires suck (and are willing to
stake their lives on it).

Now Ciara must protect the station while struggling with her own murky
relationship issues, her best friend’s unlikely romance with a
fledgling vampire, and the nature of her mysterious anti-holy powers.
To make it to New Year’s in one piece, she’ll need to learn a few new
tricks….

“Smith-Ready pours plenty of fun into her charming, fang-in-cheek
urban fantasy” — Publisher’s Weekly, starred review

Isn’t that an awesome cover? And the story sounds rockin’! I haven’t read the first book yet, so I need to go get it.

To be entered in today’s contest to win this book, let’s talk about books in a series. Are you a ‘read in order’ kind of person? If book 2 is out and you haven’t yet book 1, do you have to get both books, or can you read book 2 without having read book 1? I can read out of order as long as I don’t need to have the storyline in the first book for it to make sense. Otherwise I’ll go ahead and read in the order the books were released.

Please don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear right away. Some comments are being moderated and I’ll grab them and release them.

March 24 Book Giveaway

Babies. I love babies and books about babies. That’s probably why I love category books so much. Lots of secret babies, unexpected babies, all kinds of baby stories.

And since #1 son and his fiancee announced recently that baby #2 is on the way (yes I’m going to be a grandma again :giggle: ), this is a perfect time to celebrate all things baby! Well..all books about babies anyway.

Some of my favorite category books are the ones with secret babies and surprise pregnancies. So today I’m going to give away a bundle of 3 books that are my favorites from 3 incredibly talented authors:

Maya Banks THE TYCOON’S PREGNANT MISTRESS
tycoon

Greek hotel magnate Chrysander Anetakis’s former mistress was pregnant? And had amnesia? That meant Marley Jameson didn’t remember betraying him by selling company secrets. Or that he’d thrown her out of his life. So he told her a little white lie: they were engaged. Then he swept her away to his Greek island to await the birth of his baby and enjoy her sudden devotion…before tossing her out.
But he didn’t count on Marley regaining her memory so soon.

Karen Templeton’s REINING IN THE RANCHER
:
rancher

“You’re what?”
Thea Benedict had been about to—honest to God—tell her ex-lover Johnny Griego she was pregnant. Until Johnny’s teenage daughter beat her to it with her big news!

Thea knew Johnny wasn’t a happily-ever-after kind of guy. And now he had his little girl’s impending motherhood to think about. So you could have knocked Thea over when the sexy rancher asked her to be his wife! She should have guessed Johnny was the type to do the right thing by her. Except Thea had some crazy notion about marrying for love…

Amy Knupp’s THE SECRET SHE KEPT
secret

She never ever thought Jake Barnes would know the truth. When he left town without any warning, Savannah couldn’t tell him she was pregnant. He didn’t give her the chance. So now—years later—because he’s back and finds out he has a child, suddenly she’s the villain.… How is that fair?
Savannah Salinger raised her daughter and knows what’s best for her own kid. But she can’t seem to push Jake away, and having the infuriating man so close…so close to her…stirs up all those feelings she thought were buried as deep as the secret she swore she’d never tell.

To be entered to win today’s bundle of books, let’s talk about pregnancies and kids in romances. Does it bother you if the heroine is pregnant in the book? What about kids in your romances. Is it okay to have babies in the book? What about toddlers, or precocious kidlets or even teens with attitude? Yes/No/Don’t care? Tell me your favorite books with babies/pregnant heroines/kids in them?

Please don’t panic if your comment doesn’t appear right away. Some comments are being moderated and I’ll grab them and release them.

March 20th Book Giveaway

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED AND THE WINNERS HAVE BEEN CHOSEN

There are so many awesome authors out there, with great, ongoing series. And some are my absolute favorites that I think everyone should be reading. And some of you probably are. And some of you maybe aren’t. So I’m going to spotlight a few of my favorite authors with ongoing series. Today it’s Meljean Brook and her Guardian series.

The first book in Meljean’s Guardian series is Demon Angel (yes I know there was a novella before that, but I’m counting the first single title):

demon-angel

For two thousand years, Lilith wrought vengeance upon the evil and the damned, gathering souls for her father’s armies Below and proving her fealty to her Underworld liege. Bound by a bargain with the devil and forbidden to feel pleasure, she draws upon her dark powers and serpentine grace to lead men into temptation. That is, until she faces her greatest temptation—Heaven’s own Sir Hugh Castleford…

Once a knight and now a Guardian, Hugh spent centuries battling demons—and the cursed, blood-drinking nosferatu. His purpose has always been to thwart the demon Lilith, even as he battles his treacherous hunger for her. But when a deadly alliance unleashes a threat to both humans and Guardians in modern-day San Francisco, angel and demon must fight together against unholy evil—and against a desire that has been too long denied…

Who will be the first to succumb?

This book is…amazing. I just can’t say enough about it. And I want everyone to read it so you can catch up in this incredible series. Because right now if you haven’t been reading the series, you’re several books behind. And once you read Demon Angel, believe me, you’re going to want to catch up.

To read all about Meljean’s Guardian series, click here

To be eligible to win this book, let’s talk about catching up. What book or tv series did you choose to pass on, then regretted it when it turned out to be a hit because then you had to play catch up? For me, it’s 24 for television. We never watched it, and now I’m buying the seasons on DVD. On Season 3 right now and have a love/hate relationshp with Jack Bauer. But by God I will catch up. Heh. For books, it’s definitely the J.D. Robb series. Omg I’m like 100 books behind(slight exaggeration but it feels that way to me). I love love love this series, but damn I may never catch up.

And don’t forget the grand prize contest plus all the rules about the daily contest giveaways here
