Ahhhhh

So after the crisis that was my week, I knuckled down and did a bunch of work this weekend.

Saturday night, Biker Dude decided I needed a break. He made me step away from the revisions and told me he was taking me out to dinner. By ‘taking me out to dinner’, he meant take a nice 2 hour drive down south to a little Italian town where we could have some authentic Italian food. We ate at this great restaurant where we even had a private room all our own. I had a great class of Chianti, we had tons of food (they serve everyone family style, which meant salad, bread, spaghetti, meatballs, ravioli, antipasto in addition to your main course!). I was stuffed. Then another leisurely 2 hour drive home. It was heavenly. Relaxing, lots of quiet time alone with my babe, and very stress relieving. I needed it and he knew it. That’s why I love him.

Things are going well here with the revisions. Should have them knocked out within a few days and be back on schedule for April. :boobie:

Update

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse…

Finished up galleys for The Darkest Touch Thursday and those went back to Bantam. Yayyyy!

The next day Fedex dropped off revisions for Riding Temptation from Berkley. Yikes!

So yesterday I wrote 6000 words (yes! 6000 words in one day! :glee: ) and finished my 4th Demon Hunters book, The Darkest Temptation. Yayyyy!

Now onto revisions for the Berkley book, which I need to wrangle asap because I have a book in process for Samhain that I need to finish, preferably before the end of April. Because I have to jump in and start writing the next Berkley book, Riding on Instinct. It’s due July 1st.

Tequila anyone? :chair:

Holy Crap!

It’s been one of those weeks. Crisis central, book deadlines looming, and struggling to get galleys done too.

Well, galleys are done. Finished those up this morning. Thank. God. One project off my list.

I’m behind on my book writing. Had to stop on Monday to do some research. Research=fun, but also time consuming. Then we hit a major crises so that took care of yesterday. Bleh. I have to write. But the book isn’t going to be finished this week like I thought. Fortunately I have some built in padding to those drop dead deadlines, and the book I’m going to be working on during the month of April will be a piece of cake (so she thinks :giggle: )

Do you ever have one of those weeks where the shit just hits the fan?

Send chocolate. Ship sinking. Help! :chair:

My Weekend

24 hours with a 4 year old (o.m.g. I’m tired). The kidlet spent the night Saturday. Fun stuff. But I’m tired.

Went to 4 year old’s soccer game
Went out for pizza for #1 son’s birthday
Made 2 loaves of home made bread
Made a birthday cake for #1 son’s birthday - said 4 year old helped decorate cake
Made baked sweet potatoes - with marshmallows
Baked a ham
Worked on galleys for The Darkest Touch
Worked on writing for The Darkest Temptation (no, not taking weekends off right now. Deadline crunch time)
Hid easter eggs
Finished reading a book (I’ll tell you which book soon. :giggle: )
:laundry:
Dinner with familiy on Easter
Did lots of dishes. Lots. Of. Dishes.

I’m tired. And now it’s Monday which means more galley reading, more writing. Busy week ahead. :titanic:

Hope you all had a fun, relaxing weekend.

It’s Friday!

Happy Friday! I hope some of you have the day off today. (I don’t. One of the drawbacks of the self-employed  )

I ordered $50 worth of books at Amazon yesterday. I think I had books accumulating in my shopping cart for about 2 months. I figured it was time to hit the ‘buy’ button. :giggle: Do you ever do that? Either make a really long list and then buy at once, or let your online bookstore list accumulate then just do a mass buy? Or are you a one book at a time person?

This and That

Today I’m over at the 70 Days of Sweat blogging about Comparisons. It’s hard for a writer not to compare his or herself to others, but really, try to avoid this!

So I made bread last night (yeah, with my current schedule I’ve got time for that, right?) But Angie bought this great cookbook called Aristan Bread in Five Minutes A Day (the link to the book…pic included) is on the sidebar of Angie’s blog) and told me about it and Biker Dude and I love homemade bread so I just had to try it out. Loved it. It’s a little bit of work but not the kneading and rising and more kneading kind. And it tasted awesome and looked beautiful so I’m really pleased how it turned out. I’m really not the gourmet chef kind of person, but I do love to cook…as long as it’s easy. :giggle: Anyway, trust me when I say this is easy. If it’s complicated, I don’t do it. Heh.

So this week I have to work both on my daily writing goal and on galleys for The Darkest Touch. I’m not fond of juggling multiple projects. I’m a one project at a time kind of writer. But sometimes I have no choice. I can’t set aside the writing to work on the galleys because I have a drop dead deadline on this book I’m writing, which means I have to write every day. And the galleys are due back next week, which means I have to work on those every day, too. So I juggle. Sometimes you just gotta make it work.

Anyone watch American Idol this week? What did you think? I think Kristi really needs to go home. And what the hell was Carly doing in the bottom 3?
