Happy Halloween!!!

In honor of Halloween, I’m listing my all time favorite scare-the-crap-out-of-me movies. :hide:

1. Halloween

2. Halloween 2 (both 1 and 2 - I’ve seen both a gozillion times. I still clench and jump during every scene)

3. The Exorcist (still can’t watch this one without having nightmares - probably the Catholic in me.)

4. House on Haunted Hill (the original)

5. Poltergeist (This movie made me not want to turn my TV on…and that’s a really big deal in my house)

6. Psycho (Thank God I only had a bathtub and no shower when I was a kid. Eek!)

7. The Blair Witch Project (that very last scene in the movie gives me the heebie-jeebies every single time)

8. The Haunting (1963 version)

9. Nightmare on Elm Street (thank you for making me NOT be able to sleep. Argh!)

10. Night of the Living Dead - (Zombies…need I say more?)

So tell me some of your favorite horror movies.

Urgh. Monday. Weekly To Do List

I hate the time change. Sunlight is streaming in through my bedroom way too damn early.

*growl*

Can you tell it’s Monday?

So I made some progress on revisions. I’ve been able to salvage more of the beginning of the book than I anticipated, so that’s good. I’ve got about 125 pages in so far, and that’s progress.

This week I’ll be tackling some of the meatier aspects of the plot and subplot, some of the main issues that need to be revised.

So here’s the To Do List for the week:

1. Revisions on Hunting the Demon

2. Make hair appointment (ack. Roots. ack.)

3. Grocery store. (Does anyone hate grocery shopping as much as I do?)

4. Work at office with Charlie 2 days this week. (ugh, but bright side, he does have DSL there. Wheeee!!!!)

5. Buy toys. (we’re going to do a couple motorcyle toy runs so we need to buy toys. How fun!

Oh, and I’m guest blogging over at THE MIDNIGHT HOUR today, so come see me!

That’s it for me. What’s everyone doing this week?

Saturday, Squeeing and Stuff

I’m Squeeing because the Cardinals Won The World Series!!!!! :whoo: (Sorry ’bout that, Colleen . Tigers fought hard. It was a great series and a true nail biter.)

So I’ve been working diligently on revisions to Hunting the Demon. Made some progress this week. Worked on characterization for my two main characters and subplot characters. Rewrote the beginning and spent all day yesterday cutting and pasting some stuff from the original and interspersing it with some new stuff. Oy. It’s like working with a jigsaw puzzle. Stick this from the original in there, but cut those two lines out because they won’t work. Delete those five pages, write new stuff there. Can’t use that, toss it. Can use this, insert it here. Then add, add, add, delete, delete, delete.

The mind boggles. Hope this damn thing makes sense. :hide:

Gotta work on the plot and subplot today. Ugh. This is where it gets really hard because I’m developing new material.

Oh and there’s laundry today. There’s always laundry. :chair:

Tonight is time with Charlie because he’s going on a bike run with some of his buddies tomorrow, so I’ll be all alone again. Tomorrow I can get some more work done on the book, but kinda lonely spending weekends by myself since he always works on Saturday and then he’ll be gone this Sunday too.

So what does everyone have planned for the weekend?

Website Stuff

Dear Author and others have been talking websites lately.

Which of course made me start obsessing about mine. (Yes, I’m getting as bad as Shan)

Of course I just had my website redesigned a few months ago, and I love the new design. I made sure it was clean and simple because I hate busy sites where you can’t find anything.

I know I need to get my books rearranged into series order, so that’s up next. :hide:

But other than that, what do you all think? Anything need tweaking? Anything not here that needs to be? Anything here that you hate? Tell me, tell me.

Monday and things

Who let Monday in?

Revisions for Hunting the Demon came Saturday while I was at work. I was busy all weekend, but I did take a little time on Sunday to work on characterization. More on that later. :chair:

World Series tied 1 and 1. Yes, Colleen, Rogers pitched one hell of a game for Detroit last night. Now we head to St Louis and we’ll see how it goes. I’m really enjoying this World Series. Probably because I like Detroit. It’s not like my Cards are playing some team I love to hate…like the Yankees. hehehe

So the to do list for this week:

1. Revisions on Hunting the Demon - this one’s going to consume me for quite some time, so it’ll probably be the main thing on the list for a bit. This week is just characterization on the main and subplot characters and restructuring some of the plotline.

2. Post Office

3. Grocery Store

4. Clean up desk/table area. Gotta find workspace. Gah. Who works in this mess? Oh wait…I do.

5. Await video trailer for Surviving Demon Island…………….it should be ready soon!

What’s on your to do this list week?

Saturday and Writing Thoughts

But I do NOT have the day off. I’m at Charlie’s office working today.

Bleh. But hey, the good news about being at the office today? No laundry. :whoo:

Revisions for Hunting the Demon have not arrived yet. I find myself torn between breathing a huge sigh of relief at the weekend reprieve and anxiously awaiting them, because I really do want to tear into the story and make it better. My editor, though vicious with the editing whip, is phenomenal. She really knows how to dig deep into a story, rip it to shreds all the way down to its most basic, from plot to subplot to every character in the book, and build from the ground up. And though painful as hell, she is absolutely phenomenal in helping me construct a better book. Which is really what I want. She did that for me with Surviving Demon Island. I want the same for Hunting the Demon.

Even if it hurts. :whip:

So this weekend, besides working, will be spent on miscellaneous tasks, mostly involving fiddilng with some plotlines for other books I will be writing in the very near future.

And, of course, laundry.

And tonight is the first game of the World Series! I grew up in St Louis and am a diehard Cardinals fan, so GO CARDS! :cheer:

What’s on everyone’s weekend agenda?

Evil lurks

In the way of impending revisions to Hunting the Demon.
My editor read it. She called me.
There will be revisions. A bunch. <—–understatement. :hide:

On a good note, Wild Nights is finished! Just need to finish revising it and it’s off to my Berkley editor. :boobie:

So by next week, one will be gone and then I’ll be buried. And somewhere in there I have to develop the proposal for the next demon hunters book, write another novella and another single title.

Tequila anyone?
