Have Elton John singing in my head this morning.

And a headache. Probably brought about by too little sleep since Charlie went to a bike event in Arkansas yesterday and came home really late and of course I had to wait up. He brought me a shirt, though. Wicked cool shirt, too. :charlie:

I finished editing A Demon Is Forever…mostly. I need to tweak a few things at the end. I could probably go through it ad nauseum over and over and over again and it still wouldn’t be perfect…so it’s time to send that baby off to my editor and let her tear it up.

So today I’ll be putting the final touches on ADIF, doing some laundry (is there ever a day I DON’T do laundry?) and then starting on my Berkley novella. And somewhere in there I need a really good nap.

We’re home from our trip. I do love to travel, but I love coming home even more. I like my own bed, my own pillows and blankets…there really is no place like home. Of course coming home meant overflowing piles of laundry, grocery shopping, picking up the pups from the vet and way too many things to do to get caught up, so yesterday was spent in an exhausting array of running errands and activities related to my book. The book stuff is fun, though.

Lots of great things happening with Surviving Demon Island. I’ll be posting about them in the near future. Now that I got a lot of that out of the way, I have to spend today working on cleaning up the mess that is the first draft of A Demon Is Forever. I’d really like to get it to my editor next week, which both excites me and makes my stomach turn. I of course want her to love it and am anxious to hear what she thinks of the story.

I’m out of town, but still blogging!

And even though traveling, still working. Ha! Like that ever ends. But since this is Charlie’s work trip, I have a lot of free time so I get to do my thing.

This week:

1. Continue revisions on A Demon Is Forever. (must.finish.soon)

2. Start Berkley HEAT novella (Wheeeeee!!!!)

That’s it since I’m traveling.

What’s on your agenda for this week?

So we’re heading out of town tomorrow. Charlie has a work event in St Louis next week, and since that’s my home town and where my mom is, I’m going, too.

Which means I have a ton of stuff to do today. Bleh. Like laundry and packing and printing some pictures for my mom to see and making sure everything’s in order for our daughter to take the dogs to the vet on Monday and blah blah blah.

And I finished first round revisions on A Demon Is Forever. It went pretty well. Of course now Charlie is reading it and he finds all kinds of things I missed. What? Am I freakin blind? How can I miss all this stuff? Makes me insane.

I’m so ready to give this book up to my editor.

So what’s everyone doing this weekend?

Advance Reader Copies of Surviving Demon Island have arrived!!!!

Okay, so I might have cried when I saw them. So I’m a big ole sap and even though this isn’t my first book release, it’s my first mass market book, my first ‘hey folks, this is the BIG one’ impending release. This is the book I poured my heart and soul into, and it’s getting closer and closer to reality.

And even the ARCs are beautiful!

I did pretty good on last week’s to do list. Finished the damn book and that was the big one.

I also judged five contest entries for an unpubbed contest which wasn’t on my list, mainly because I forgot to add them. So I’m taking credit for accomplishing that goal, too.

This week:

1. Revise A Demon Is Forever

2. As soon as ARCs for SDI arrive, organize out send out list (squeeeee!!!!!!)

3. Work on some promotional things

That’s it for me. I really want to get the revisions for ADIF done. Leaving town on Sunday for a few days.
